Earning Your FCEA Master Astrologer Degree

Requirements for earning FCEA Master Astrologer Certification:

  • Completion of FCEA 100 Apprentice Level
  • Completion of FCEA 200 Craftsperson Level
  • Completion of FCEA 300 Master Level

Upon successful completion of the 300 Master Level, students will receive certification as a Forrest Center for Evolutionary Astrology Master Astrologer. An official diploma will be issued, and the student be featured in our online Graduates directory on the FCEA website.

Honors Recognition: In the future we will be offering optional 400 Level elective courses for Master Level students and FCEA Graduates. Once an elective has been completed, the student will receive recognition of their accomplishment. Students who complete six (6) 400 Level electives will receive an Honors designation to add to their FCEA Master Astrologer degree.

Registration Information:

  • The first step to enrollment is to register an account and log in.
  • All FCEA courses can be purchased individually or in packages (with discounted pricing).
  • All courses need to be taken in sequential order, with one course being the prerequisite for the next one. (With the exception of 300SC at the 300 Level.)
  • Guided course dates are highlighted in blue.
  • Required textbooks are not included in the course prices.
  • Course prices vary based on factors including: the duration of each course, the amount of class discussion, and the number of assignments requiring in-depth review by teachers and tutors.
  • If you already have a foundational understanding of Evolutionary Astrology: OR if you have studied with Steven before, you may want to enroll in the Level 100 self-guided courses to fast-track your studies. OR, if you know the basics of astrology but wish for more practice learning nodal analysis, you can take the FCEA-100 Evolutionary Transition Program which begins with a self-paced course but then moves into the guided program (details in 100 Level Apprentice Course Packages below).
  • Once you are an enrolled student: You will receive an exclusive invitation to the monthly live Student Q&A Call with Steven via Zoom, with an opportunity to submit a question and a chart, which may be randomly selected for a reading by Steven during the call.
  • Package discounts: Students receive an approximate 10% discount over the individual course prices. The package purchase also ensures students are able to enroll in a complete degree program.
  • Note to current students: If you have purchased a 100, 200 or 300 Level package, you do not have to register individually for each course. You will be automatically enrolled upon successful completion of the prerequisite course. If you have any questions about your registration status, contact the Registrar.
  • The three package formats are: Guided, Self-Paced, and Transition. Guided is a tutor-led program with a mixture of video and live discussion. Self-Paced offers video only where you can move at your own pace without any live tutor interaction. Transition offers a mixture of Self-Paced and Guided courses, with a Self-Paced 101 and then our tutor-led Guided version of 102 (which is 102B) for nodal analysis. Transition is ideal for students who might already have an astrology background, but who would benefit from learning or reviewing the Steven Forrest approach to Evolutionary Astrology via a tutor-led program. 
  • Guided courses include: Two live Zoom calls (course orientation call and mid-course student Q&A call), weekly engagement with Forrest-trained tutors in our interactive lab class discussion forums, and additional exercises using course material.
  • The FCEA 103 Chart Reading Practicum is required for the Apprentice Degree and to take courses at the Craftsperson Level.
  • The Craftsperson Level 200 degree is required to take courses at the Master 300 Level.

  • Discounted package pricing is available when purchasing one of our offered package deals, which includes a block of courses all purchased at the same time prior to enrollment. Package pricing cannot be applied retroactively. 

Refund Policy

  • Full Refund: For any purchase where access has not yet been granted to course materials.
  • Partial Refund: For any portion of a package where access to course materials has not yet been granted. Accessed courses purchased as part of a package will convert to la carte pricing prior to refund.
  • No Refund: No refund is available once access to a course has been granted.

100 Level Apprentice Courses

Welcome, Future Apprentices! Our course list below explains the format and objectives of this program, which offers a path to mastery of Evolutionary Astrology fundamentals in the Steven Forrest Method, including his revolutionary approach to nodal analysis.

  • To attain the Apprentice Degree, passing the full 100 series of 101, 102 and 103 is required.
  • The 101 and 102 are offered in both Self-Paced and Guided formats. You can choose to take them both as Guided, both as Self-Paced, or a combination of the two.
  • Note that the 103 Chart Reading Practicum is a Guided course.
  • Once you have completed all three courses you will earn the Apprentice degree.

Students learn how to master the basics of evolutionary astrology in the Forrest Method. You will learn the core language and key concepts as described in the required course textbook, The Inner Sky. It will contain a mixture of brief videos and narrative teaching components, as well as tests to gauge your familiarity with and/or grasp of the material covered. You will learn the concepts of planets, signs, houses and aspects. The course will expose you to the symbols used to represent these concepts and how to interpret them in the context of a person’s birthchart. As your proficiency increases, you’ll assemble these into sentences, paragraphs and ultimately a story about the individual whose chart you are interpreting. The focus in FCEA 101 is developing a fundamental understanding of a person’s psychological nature as reflected in the birthchart.

Students learn detailed methods of nodal analysis using the Steven Forrest Method. To enroll, you MUST have completed one of the FCEA-101 courses. It will teach the techniques for detecting the fingerprints of unresolved issues from prior lifetimes, as presented in the birthchart. This is “the chart behind the chart.” You will learn how to decode it, and determine the remedy for the dilemmas it represents. This is the heart of evolutionary astrology. “Understand the Chart Behind the Chart” In FCEA 101, you learned how to understand a person’s psychological makeup. Here you will learn to see why he or she is that way today, facing challenges and possibilities. As these two perspectives come together, we encounter the full analytical power of this system of human understanding. You will learn nodal analysis, the Steven Forrest Method, the fundamental methods and techniques needed to add an evolutionary astrological perspective, through the Moon’s north and south nodes. You will learn the basic astronomy used to determine the location of the lunar nodes. Then applying the techniques already learned, interpreting nodes by sign and house placement, refining this through their planetary rulers, and planetary aspects, you will create a nodal story. As your understanding deepens, you will develop concepts and practices to better reveal the wounds a person carries in this lifetime. You’ll be able to offer possible roads for addressing them. This is the heart of evolutionary astrological counseling. The course materials are organized into cohesive modules. Each module may contain reading assignments, videos, PDF handouts and self-directed exercises. The course will complete with the assignment of a final exam. Completion of the self-directed exercises and final exam is required for anyone seeking certification. Prerequisite: FCEA-101 or 101B

This course builds on FCEA 101 (Introduction to Evolutionary Astrology) and FCEA 102 (The Lunar Nodes, Astrology and Reincarnation). It will help you review and apply the core vocabulary and methods needed to continue studying with the FCEA by applying them to actual charts.  Everything that follows in the program is based upon this fundamental language. Each week the class will work together analyzing charts. Your teacher, tutor and fellow students will participate in a set of forums with specific discussion topics. Students are required to complete writing assignments and a written final exam to pass the course. Prerequisite: FCEA-102 or 102B

100Z is a small-group learning experience covering basic skills needed for natal chart analysis. This class is designed to be taken simultaneously with 101, 101B, 102, 102B and/or 103, providing an opportunity for live instruction in a casual, comfortable setting. Students meet with a tutor once a week on Zoom in order to review course curriculum. Time is provided for questions and answers (Q&A) between student and tutor, as well as for discussion of sample charts.

Craftsperson

200 Level Craftsperson Courses

To attain the Craftsperson Degree, students must successfully complete the full 200 Level series of: 201 (or 201SP), 202, 203, 204 and 205.

The 201 is offered in both Self-Paced and Guided formats. (Note that all of the remaining courses in the FCEA program are Guided courses.)

The Craftsperson Level has two segments; The 201, 202 and 203 make up the Foundations segment, and the 204 and 205 make up the Relationships segment.

All courses need to be taken in sequential order, with one course being the prerequisite for the next one.

Once you have completed all five courses you will earn the Craftsperson degree.

This program is designed for students who are ready to add the concepts of Transits, Progressions and Solar Arcs to their astrological skills. They are taught from the perspective of the Steven Forrest Method. Prerequisite: FCEA-103.

Master

300 Level Master Courses

To attain the Master Astrologer Degree, students must successfully complete the full 300 Level series of 301, 302, 303, 304, 305 and 306. In addition, students must complete the 300SC at some time during their Level 300 studies.

The 300-SC Sacred Counsel is a requirement for completion of the 300 Level Master Program and can be taken at any time during the 300 Level studies, including concurrent with any of the other 300 Level courses. (It is recommended that you complete the 300-SC prior to enrollment in the FCEA 306 so that you can attain Master certification immediately after completing the 306.)

FCEA-301 to 306 are advanced lab courses that include live weekly Zoom class meetings (recorded) with a tutor in addition to online class forums. Tutors oversee class discussions and the technical questions forum only. Student/Tutor interaction mostly occurs in the weekly Zoom meetings.

In this course, we come together as evolutionary astrologers to discuss “best practices” when working one-on-one with clients. How do we establish a good, respectful rapport with our clients and create a safe, nurturing environment for practicing our sacred craft? Steven focuses upon three good “cares” to have:  caring for astrology, caring for your clients, and caring for yourself. In FCEA 300SC, Steven shares some of what he has learned over the years about these three faces of our healing work. Counseling astrology and psychotherapy naturally often overlap, but they are not the same. How can we find our own healing voice? Students meet weekly with an FCEA tutor on Zoom. Prerequisite: FCEA-205

An in-depth exploration of everything “lunar.” Students study the phases of the Moon in the natal chart and by progression. Other topics include the speed of the Moon, the Moon “out of bounds,” and a solid review of the Moon through the signs of the zodiac.  Prerequisite: FCEA-205

Get ready to dive deeper into the role of Saturn, the “task master,” and Jupiter “king of the gods,” in the natal chart and by transit, progression and solar arc. This course reviews each planet and provides students with a chance to sharpen their skills in working with both of these “aspirational” planets. Prerequisite: FCEA-302

400 Level Electives

In the future we will be offering 400 Level elective courses for Master Level students and FCEA Graduates. Once an elective has been completed, the student will receive recognition of their accomplishment. Students who complete six (6) 400 Level electives will receive an Honors designation to add to their FCEA Master Astrologer degree.
